This Role

Enterprises are drowning in millions of product feedback signals coming from e-commerce, social media, customer care, surveys, and so on. Yogi is building the software to let them gather as much feedback data as possible, make sense of it, and act on it. You’ll own key features and infra to empower Yogi to discover, investigate, catalog, and analyze product insights for some of the best-known brands in the world. You’ll join two AI engineers, a frontend engineer, a designer, and a PM, and be the person who raises our backend and data modeling bar.

What you’ll work on

• Scale our agent platform. Evolve the infrastructure that runs thousands of agents, with a focus on reliability, orchestration, and performance.
• Build the insights inventory. Help us build the system that tracks, deduplicates, and catalogs the insights our agents find, so users and agents can act on them over time.
• Drive data modeling and performance across PostgreSQL and ClickHouse as our data volume and agent workloads grow.
• Engineer for context. Build analytics features that can be consumed by humans and agents alike.
• Own our MCP server and the tools our agents use to work with Yogi data.
• Raise the engineering bar. Set the standard for code quality, API design, and data modeling across the team.

What we’re looking for

Must-Haves:

• 4+ years building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling. Experience with analytical databases like ClickHouse is a strong plus.
• Proficiency with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, AWS, and LLM APIs (or demonstrable speed at picking up new stacks).
• Experience with async Python, background jobs, and workflow orchestration.
• Solid API design instincts, including versioning, backward compatibility, and clear contracts.
• First-principles, systems-level thinking over short-term fixes.
• Product taste. You think from the user and the business perspective.
• Strong sense of ownership and pride in your work.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience building LLM features, agent tooling, or MCP servers.
• Experience with distributed systems or high-throughput data pipelines.
• Prior work at an early-stage startup where you helped set engineering standards.

This Role Might Not Be For You If:

• You do your best work with a well-defined spec and a stable, established codebase.
• You want to work purely on infrastructure or tooling, away from users and product decisions.
• You’re looking for a remote-first role; we’re 4 days/week in our downtown NYC office.
